‘Harvey pets’ in Texas need food, supplies

Angel Ridge Animal Rescue, an animal shelter and sanctuary in Chartiers Township, is sponsoring a pet food and supply drive for animals displaced during Hurricane Harvey’s flooding in Texas.

The drive will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at Diesel’s Heating and Air Conditioning, 326 E. Pike St., Houston, and during the same hours Saturday, Sept. 16, at Angel Ridge Animal Rescue, 390 Old Hickory Ridge Road, Washington.

Items that are being requested by the animal rescuers in Texas are dry and canned dog and cat food, scoopable cat litter, medicated dog and cat shampoo, bleach, cleaning supplies, drinking water and folding crates.
