Street department employee arrested on drug charges
A Washington street department employee was arrested Friday on drug charges filed against him by Washington County Drug Task Force, as well as on a warrant charging him with assaulting a Chartiers Township woman more than five years ago.
Andre Camden Taylor II, 26, of 4 Second St., Washington, was arraigned before District Judge Traci McDonald on two counts of possession with intent to deliver marijuana and one count each of simple assault and harassment.
A task force detective obtained the warrant Thursday from District Judge David Mark after two controlled purchases of marijuana allegedly were made last month by a confidential informant in Chartiers Township. The confidential informant was under constant surveillance by task force detectives and was searched before and after each sale, investigators said.
Detectives said they positively identified Taylor as the person who delivered the marijuana in his vehicle at a predetermined location.
Taylor also is charged by Chartiers police for allegedly shoving a woman inside a home on Moon Road in Washington Estates mobile home park in March 2012.
Taylor was released from Washington County jail Saturday after posting $25,000 bond. He is scheduled for a Sept. 20 preliminary hearing before Mark.
