Woman ordered to trial in stabbing death outside bar
PITTSBURGH (AP) – A woman accused of stabbing a stranger to death after an argument in a Pittsburgh bar has been ordered to stand trial on a homicide charge.
Twenty-five-year-old Ashley Henchell is charged in the death of 33-year-old Ryan Carosi, who was found near a CoGos convenience store in the Mount Washington neighborhood early Aug. 13.
Police allege that she said the two fought in Satalio’s bar and later made up, but another argument began outside and she stabbed him. Allegheny County prosecutors allege that she then threw away the knife, went home and showered and washed her clothes.
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports that defense attorney Randall McKinney called it a case of self-defense. He said his “young, petite” client was “viciously attacked by a man she’d never seen before.”
