Drug arrest: Steven Michael Newman, 27, of 44 Main St., Atlasburg, was arraigned Thursday before District Judge Gary Havelka on charges of possession, possession with intent to deliver and delivery of cocaine filed by McDonald police. He is accused of selling the drug to an undercover detective in April in Burgettstown. Newman was placed in Washington County jail on $10,000 bond.

Theft alleged: Crystal Marie Chalfant, 35, of 1135 Lincoln Ave., North Charleroi, is charged by Charleroi Regional police with access device fraud, theft and receiving stolen property, court records show. Police accuse her of using a partially blind man’s banking card to steal $500 from him about 5 p.m. Aug. 31. Chalfant is in Washington County jail on $50,000 bond set Wednesday by District Judge Larry Hopkins.

Risers stolen: Eleven manhole risers were stolen from outside the Cokeburg maintenance building at 3 Polk St., state police said. The theft was reported Monday.

Woman wanted: State police obtained an arrest warrant from District Judge David Mark for Tina Michelle Temple, 43, of Pittsburgh, on charges of robbery, theft and receiving stolen property. She is accused of going into the Houston home of Lesa Presto and stealing a cellphone and $550. When Presto tried to retrieve the items, Temple allegedly pushed her to the ground. Anyone with information on Temple’s whereabouts is asked to call police at 724-223-5200.

Man charged: Michael Anthony Dean, 30, of 784 Hopkins Run Road, Sycamore, is charged by state police with burglary, trespassing, criminal mischief and disorderly conduct, court records show. Police accuse Dean of breaking into a residence in the 400 block of Third Street about 11:15 a.m. Wednesday and then fleeing after the resident fired a gunshot into the ground. The charges will proceed from the office of District Judge Curtis Thompson.

Driver injured: Jose Luis Munoz, 23, of 12 Norris Drive, Canonsburg, was injured early Thursday when he failed to negotiate a curve while going south on Galley Road and hit a traffic island. He was taken to Canonsburg Hospital for treatment. Charges are pending blood-alcohol test results, police said.

Batteries stolen: An employee of Mid-Ohio Construction of Dover, Ohio, told South Strabane police Tuesday six batteries valued at $600 each were stolen from three pieces of construction equipment parked in the 600 block of East Maiden Street.

Trespass arrest: David Walton, 33, whose last known address was on Jefferson Avenue in Washington, was arraigned Thursday before District Judge Robert Redlinger on a charge of defiant trespass filed by Washington police. He reportedly was found sleeping on property posted “No Trespassing” Sept. 7, 2015. He was placed in Washington County jail on a $1,000 percentage bond.
