Pittsburgh man pleads guilty to supplying fentanyl linked to area death

A Pittsburgh man has pleaded guilty to selling fentanyl that was linked to an overdose death in Washington County in 2016.

Matthew David “Z” Adams, 28, pleaded guilty to one count of dealing heroin and fentanyl before U.S. District Judge Joy Flowers Conti, the office of acting U.S. Attorney Soo C. Song said Monday.

Investigators were led to Adams from information on a cellphone belonging to Jesse James King, 49, of Houston, who died of an fentanyl overdose April 19, 2016.

Stamp bags labeled OMG were found near King’s body.

Police apprehended Adams two days after King died with 17 stamp bags of heroin labeled OMG and 30 others marked Gator and containing heroin, Song’s office said.

Adams, who already has a conviction for dealing heroin in Allegheny County, is expected to be sentenced to spend 8 years in a federal prison. He is in federal custody.
