Convicted city felon indicted on gun charge
A federal grand jury in Pittsburgh has accused James Roosevelt Leach, 45, of Washington, of unlawfully possessing a gun and ammunition, acting U.S. attorney Soo C. Song announced Monday.
According to the one-count indictment, Leach, a felon previously convicted of rape, robbery and aggravated assault in Washington County, unlawfully possessed a firearm and ammunition on or around Dec. 14. Federal law prohibits an individual with a felony conviction from possessing a firearm or ammunition.
Under the charge, Leach would face a maximum of 10 years in prison, a fine of $250,000 or both.
