Bridges to close for repairs
The state Department of Transportation is advising motorists that two area bridges are closing for repairs.
A bridge on a section of Route 3035 (Craft Creek Road) will be closed, and a detour will be in place, starting Monday.
The bridge is between Route 221 (S Bridge Road) and Winding Road and carries Route 3035 over Tenmile Creek in Morris Township.
The closure will be in place to allow for the replacement of the bridge deck and beams, along with miscellaneous roadway work.
A marked detour will be in place using Route 221 (S Bridge Road), Route 3022 (Mt. Zion Road) and Route 3035 (Craft Creek Road).
The tentative completion date for the work is June 22.
Starting Monday, April 16, a section of Route 4035 (Lynn Portal Road) will be closed between Airport Road and Route 18 (Henderson Avenue) in Canton and Chartiers townships to allow for similar bridge work.
A marked detour will be in place utilizing Route 4035 (Lynn Portal Road), Route 18 (Henderson Avenue), Route 4045 (Eberle Road) and Route 4035 (Lynn Portal Road).
The work is expected to be completed June 29.
