Was your information shared in the Facebook privacy breach?
Facebook has been facing scrutiny over its data collection policies following allegations that the political consulting firm Cambridge Analytica obtained data on tens of millions of Facebook users to try and influence elections.
The information was obtained by apps that would share users’ own News Feed, timeline, posts and messages, but could potentially include posts, messages and the hometown of friends of the user.
If you are wondering if your information has been shared with Cambridge Analytica, Facebook began issuing alerts to affected users on Tuesday, April 10. Users who have not received an alert can check their profile through the Facebook Help Center. Click this link while logged in to Facebook to find out if your information was shared.
