Firefighters assist a driver who was injured when their vehicle overturned on Interstate 79 Friday in North Strabane Township.
One person was injured when their vehicle overturned Friday afternoon on Interstate 79 in North Strabane Township.
Firefighters from North Strabane and Peters Township responded to the scene of the accident in the left southbound lane of I-79 near McClelland Road just before 4 p.m. and removed the driver, who was trapped in the overturned vehicle, according to a release from the North Strabane Township Fire Department.
Crews stabilized the vehicle and removed the driver-side door to free the driver, the release said.
The driver was treated by Canonsburg EMS and transported to an area hospital, the release said.
Firefighters said crews remained at the scene of the accident until the vehicle was removed from the roadway.
