Richeyville woman accused of assaulting daughter

A Richeyville woman was arrested Thursday on a warrant obtained by Centerville police after she allegedly assaulted her 12-year-old daughter earlier this week.
Lisa Fouse, 41, of 724 Locust St., was arraigned before District Judge Gary Havelka on charges of endangering the welfare of children, simple assault, harassment, terroristic threats, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
Police were called late Tuesday to a neighbor’s home where the girl was found. She told police she got into an argument with her mother over “going to sleep.” The argument reportedly escalated into a physical confrontation.
The girl told police her mother came into her bedroom, grabbed her by the hair and pulled her off the bed. She was allegedly dragged into the hallway where her mother held her against the wall and slapped or punched her several times before dragging her by the hair back into the bedroom.
The girl was reportedly thrown onto the bed. Fouse left, returning with a knife to open the bedroom door. She allegedly grabbed the girl by the hair again and slapped or punched her. The 12-year-old then reportedly ran from the house, screaming and knocking on doors until a neighbor heard and called police.
Police talked with Fouse, who reportedly started screaming and waving her arms. When police tried to detain her for her safety, she tried to break away and go back inside her house, police said.
While Fouse was being placed inside the cruiser, she allegedly threatened to cut the officer’s neck. She also threw herself on the ground and refused to walk to the cruiser, according to police. En route to Monongahela Valley Hospital for a mental health evaluation, she started kicking the windows in the cruiser, police said, and allegedly threatened to bomb the car.
Fouse was placed in Washington County jail on $10,000 bond. She is scheduled for an April 23 preliminary hearing before District Judge Joshua Kanalis.
