NORTH STRABANE
Crash injuries: A Pittsburgh woman was injured in a one-vehicle crash Friday afternoon on southbound Interstate 79. State police said Kayla B. Wacaster, 24, lost control of the vehicle she was driving near mile marker 45, and it left the highway, hit an embankment and overturned, trapping her. She was freed and transported to Canonsburg Hospital, where the severity of her injuries was unknown. Police said Wacaster was wearing a seat belt. Canonsburg EMS and North Strabane Volunteer Fire Department responded.
SOUTH STRABANE
Car theft charges: An Allegheny County man was in Washington County jail on charges related to a stolen vehicle following a traffic stop in the township. Jeremiah Andrew Williamson, 18, no address provided, faces nine counts including unlawful taking, receiving stolen property and false identification. State police said they initiated the traffic stop on a vehicle without operating headlights at about 3:30 a.m. Thursday near Route 519 and Helen Drive. They said Williamson gave a false name and, upon investigation, found out he was accused of stealing the vehicle Wednesday in Sunbury, Northumberland County. They said a small amount of marijuana was inside. Williamson was held on straight bond.
