EAST WASHINGTON

Burglary, loitering charges: Taneesha Shyree Smith, 25, of 75 E. Walnut St., Washington, was charged last week by East Washington police with burglary and loitering at night after she allegedly broke into her former boyfriend’s home in the 300 block of East Chestnut Street on March 28. She allegedly stole one shoe from several pairs of shoes and a PlayStation. A window screen was damaged, police said. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

NORTH STRABANE

Charged with theft: Jon M. Zatezalo, 52, of Weirton, W.Va., was charged by state police at The Meadows Casino with theft after he allegedly stole another man’s gaming chip valued at $70. The charge was sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

Security guard assaulted: Andrew J. Watton, 30, of Pittsburgh, was charged this week by North Strabane police with simple assault, harassment, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct after he allegedly assaulted a security guard inside a lobby at The Meadows Casino on April 7. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

PETERS

Husband charged: Michael Clawges, 60, of 467 Pinewood Drive, McMurray, was arrested by Peters police on a charge of simple assault after he allegedly hit his wife in the head with a candle jar during an argument at their home Tuesday night. He was arraigned before District Judge Ethan Ward and released from Washington County Jail Wednesday after posting $25,000 bond.

SOUTH STRABANE

Boyfriend arrested: Hezekiah Spore, 26, of Washington, was arrested early Wednesday by South Strabane police on charges of simple assault and harassment after he allegedly struck his girlfriend and threw her to the floor during a confrontation in their room at Motel 6. He was arraigned before District Judge Ethan Ward and placed in Washington County Jail on $10,000 bond.

Former employee charged: Lisa Stringert, 37, of 253 N. Main St., Houston, was charged this week by South Strabane police with theft by deception after she allegedly stole $8,981.06 while working at Subway, 502 Washington Road, between Nov. 1 and March 27. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

Theft charge: Peter Fanase, 34, of 586 Homeville Road, Jefferson, was charged by South Strabane police with retail theft after he allegedly stole items from Target, Strabane Square, on April 6. The charge was sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

WASHINGTON

Assault charge: Ashley Paith, 34, of 112 Maple Terrace, Washington, was charged last week by Washington police with simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct after she allegedly hit a caregiver for her mother with a frozen chicken breast during an April 6 incident at her home. Paith, who is in Washington County Jail on a bench warrant, will be charged by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.

Cellphone stolen: A Reedsville, W.Va., man told Washington police early Wednesday that a man and woman stole his iPhone while they were in the parking lot of 217 Jefferson Ave. He told police that he made arrangements to sell them the phone and gave it to them so they could look at it. The two then ran away with the phone.
