Mobile Vietnam veterans memorial comes to McKeesport

A replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial will travel to McKeesport and be constructed on Jimmy Long Field in Renziehausen Park on Wednesday.

Visitors can view “The Wall That Heals” from the time it arrives in the park, but its grand opening will be on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.. The names of the 882 soldiers from Allegheny and its surrounding counties who died in Vietnam will be read on Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 4 p.m., and a closing ceremony will be held on Sunday at 11 p.m..

Help will be on hand for visitors searching for a certain name on the memorial.
