MEADOW LANDS – A Chartiers Township man died Saturday, a day after he was flown to a Pittsburgh hospital with injuries he suffered after his mobile home caught fire.

Glenn McLaughlin, 66, died at 12:11 p.m. in West Penn Hospital, said a spokeswoman for the Allegheny County medical examiner’s office.

The cause and manner of his death are pending an investigation, she said.

McLaughlin, and a woman who has yet to be identified by the local fire department, were taken to West Penn after a fast-moving fire gutted their residence at 335 1/2 Ewing St.

The woman was in critical condition Saturday, a relative said.

Firefighters from Chartiers and South Strabane Township pulled McLaughlin out from inside the burning residence about 1:15 p.m. Friday.

The female victim was found on the ground outside of the mobile home.

The state police fire marshal was investigating the cause of the fire.
