CANONSBURG

Burglary attempt: Casey Sefcik of 634 Gladden Road told Canonsburg police Saturday an attempt was made to break into her family’s home. A window air conditioner appeared to have been pushed into the house. A ladder was on the ground outside the house.

Vehicle stolen: John Gielarowski of 626 Highland Ave. told Canonsburg police Sunday his blue Subaru Legacy was stolen from outside his home.

CARROLL

Women charged: Mia Janeen Cushon, 28, and Monir Hall, 27, both of 255 California Road, California, are each charged with conspiracy and retail theft, court records show. Cushon also faces bad check charges over allegations she used them to make nearly $1,000 in purchases July 14 at Giant Eagle stores, including the one in Fisher Heights, 1300 Country Club Road in Carroll. District Judge Mark Wilson issued the charges last week by summons.

CHARLEROI

Drug arrest: Devon Johnson-Brown, 28, of Duquesne, is charged by Charleroi Regional police with drug possession with intent to deliver, drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia, court records show. Police accuse him of having 74 stamp bags of heroin when officers were sent to remove him from 616 Fallowfield Ave. about 10:20 a.m. Friday. He was placed in Washington County jail on $75,000 bond set by District Judge Larry Hopkins.

Man charged: Ramiro Gomez Larios, 22, of Bethel Park, is charged by Charleroi Regional police with making false reports to police, giving police a false identification and criminal mischief, court records show. Police accuse Larios of claiming to have suffered a severe laceration to his arm in a stabbing when the investigation showed he injured himself by punching out a window on a door at 623 Fallowfield Ave. about 10 p.m. July 13. District Judge Larry Hopkins issued the charges in a summons last week.

MONONGAHELA

Threats reported: Daniel Jeremy Doffin, 56, of 100 Third Ave., Monongahela, was arrested Sunday night by Monongahela police on charges of criminal trespass, reckless endangerment, terroristic threats, simple assault, harassment, public drunkenness, disorderly conduct and criminal mischief. Police were called to 503 Lincoln St. for a report of an intoxicated man assaulting a group of juveniles and trying to get into the residence. The woman who lived there said Doffin was a former boyfriend. One of the boys told police Doffin punched him. Doffin was arraigned before District Judge Jesse Pettit and placed in Washington County jail on $50,000 bond.

SOUTH STRABANE

Theft arrest: Casey Crane, 25, of Washington, was arrested Sunday by South Strabane police on a felony charge of retail theft after he allegedly stole items valued at $1,794 from Target, Strabane Square. Store security told police he also had been in the store Friday and Saturday, when he allegedly stole additional items. He was arraigned before District Judge Larry Hopkins and placed in Washington County jail on $25,000 bond.

WASHINGTON

Man assaulted: Thomas Lane, 38, of North Franklin Township, was critically injured early Sunday when he was assaulted behind a restaurant at 352 S. Main St. Washington police said Lane and another man reportedly got into an argument inside the business. Lane had gone outside, and a friend was trying to take him home when the other man came out. The two got into another confrontation, and the other man reportedly punched Lane in the jaw. Lane fell to the ground, hitting his head, police said. He was flown to a Pittsburgh hospital for treatment. A social worker at the hospital later notified police Lane was in critical condition with a brain bleed. Police were unable to contact Lane’s alleged assailant. The investigation is continuing.

Two face charges: Derrick Jones, 19, of 38 W. Chestnut St., Washington, and Michael Jackson, 42, of 106 Jollick Manor, Washington, will be charged by Washington police with disorderly conduct and harassment after they allegedly brandished knives at each other during a confrontation Sunday in the 10 block of West Spruce Street. Police confiscated two knives.

Assault alleged: John Helfrich of Washington told Washington police Sunday he was assaulted by another man as he walked home from work in the 900 block of Jefferson Avenue. Helfrich told police he was shoved to the ground. He refused treatment for a minor injury. Charges are pending against his alleged attacker.

GPS, change stolen: Nancy Carr of 335 Duncan Ave. told Washington police Saturday a Garmin global-positioning system that was custom-made for her Subaru and $15 in change were stolen from her vehicle.

Tea set stolen: Becky Riggle of 154 N. College St. told Washington police Friday a World War II tea set and a United States flag were stolen from a closet in her apartment.

Bank card used: Bryan Balsamo of 38 W. Walnut St. told Washington police Friday his bank card was used to make an online purchase of $136 without his permission.
