CUMBERLAND

Harassment: Thomas W. Simpkins, 25, of Nemacolin, was charged Wednesday with simple assault and harassment after Cumberland Township police said he pulled behind the disabled vehicle of Jacinda Miller on Pershing Boulevard and began swinging a baseball bat at her Aug. 3.

PERRY

Interstate crash: No one was injured in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 79 in Perry Township at 9:46 a.m. Tuesday. State police said both vehicles were traveling north in the right lane near the Mt. Morris exit when Alexandra B. Spradlin, 21, of Lavalette, W.Va., crashed into the rear of a car driven by Janice V. Smith, 75, of Morgantown, W.Va. Smith’s vehicle needed to be towed from the scene as a result of being struck from the rear.
