Greene County Fair grand champion steer and lamb announced

Julie Policz of Jefferson, right, raised the grand champion in the Greene County Fair’s 4-H & FFA market steer division. Policz served as the 2017 Greene County Fair queen. The steer sold to Jacobs Excavating/Jacobs Farm for $4 a pound at the market auction at the fairgrounds.

More than 40 steers and 70 lambs were sold Thursday night during the market auction at the Greene County Fair, including the grand champion steer and lamb.

Kolby Smith of Waynesburg, center, raised the grand champion in the Greene County Fair’s 4-H & FFA market lamb division. The lamb sold to the Lew and Debbie Crouse Farm for $17 a pound at the market auction at the fairgrounds.
