CANONSBURG

Theft, receiving charges: Keith A. Beatty II, 20, of 10 Bresock Lane, Washington, was arraigned Tuesday before District Judge David Mark on charges of theft and receiving stolen property filed by Canonsburg police after he allegedly stole a 2015 Subaru Legacy from outside a home on Highland Avenue Aug. 5. The car was recovered two days later at a gas station on West Chestnut Street in North Franklin Township. Mark set bond at $50,000 on Beatty, who has been in Washington County jail on a bench warrant since Saturday.

Vehicle damaged: Jeanna M. Main of Grace Avenue told Canonsburg police obscenities were scratched on her vehicle Monday.

CANTON

Charged in stop: Thomas A. Snyder, 57, of 525 Rural Valley Road, Claysville, was charged Tuesday by state police with possession of marijuana and paraphernalia and traffic violations after he reportedly failed to stop for a stop sign at Jefferson and Hewitt avenues Aug. 14. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.

CECIL

Disorderly, vandalism charges: Zachary Rutkowski, 20, of Mt. Lebanon, was charged last week by Cecil police with institutional vandalism, disorderly conduct, criminal mischief and underage drinking after an Aug. 10 incident at the police station following a traffic stop for an equipment violation at Reissing and Millers Run roads. He was a passenger in the vehicle. Police said he was taken into custody after it was determined he had been drinking. While at the station, Rutkowski allegedly became irate, punching the glass in the holding cell and head-butting the door. After he was released to his mother, Heidelberg police were called when he allegedly became disruptive. That department charged him with aggravated assault, terroristic threats, simple assault and resisting arrest.

DUI charge: Kaitlin Shell, 26, of Canonsburg, was charged last week by Cecil police with driving under the influence of alcohol after she allegedly crashed into a hillside near Cecil-Hendersonville and Morganza roads Saturday. Police said her blood-alcohol content was twice the 0.08 percent limit at which intoxication is presumed. Police said she had a bottle of rum in the vehicle.

HOUSTON

Contractor charged: Derick C. Knox, 33, of 45 Pitt St., Clarksville, was charged Tuesday by state police with deceptive building practices, home improvement fraud and theft by deception. He allegedly took $9,490 from a Houston woman to do roofing work on her Regent Street home. She told police he missed three starting dates and would not return her calls. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.

PETERS

Burglary, drug arrest: Jacquelyn Josephine Sexton, 19, of Venetia, was arrested Monday by Peters police on charges of burglary, criminal trespass and two counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of paraphernalia and criminal mischief after she allegedly forced her way into her mother’s home on Bebout Road after she had been banned from the property. She was arraigned before District Judge Jesse Pettit and placed in Washington County jail on $7,500 bond.

Hit-and-run alleged: Jacob Gaugler, 22, of 2481 Bethel Church Road, Bethel Park, was charged Monday by Peters police with accidents involving damage to attended vehicles after he allegedly struck the rear of a vehicle stopped at East McMurray and Valleybrook roads early Friday. Police said he then fled. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jesse Pettit.

ROSTRAVER

Man jailed: Dyshon Kenyon Stafford, 26, whose last known address was in Philadelphia, is charged by township police with making terroristic threats, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, loitering and harassment, court records show. Police accuse him of continuously pressing the door buzzer on the residence of his ex-girlfriend, Autanelzah Flowers, and also threatening to use a gun on her about 3:40 a.m. Monday at Rostraver Apartments on Mathews Road. Stafford was placed in Westmoreland County jail on $5,000 bond.

WASHINGTON

Information used: Michael Amos of Wilna Street told Washington police Monday a Bank of America account had been opened using his personal information. He learned of the account after getting a letter from an attorney saying he owed $4,154.

Medication stolen: Roger Miller of 100 S. Franklin St. told Washington police Monday his pain medication was stolen from his apartment.

Warrant arrest: Steven Loughman, 46, of Indiana, was taken into custody Monday by Washington police on a Butler County bench warrant after he allegedly grabbed his 47-year-old girlfriend by the neck during a confrontation at her Victoria Street home. He was placed in Washington County jail on the warrant. City police will charge him with harassment and disorderly conduct.

Theft from porch: Frances Anderson told Washington police Monday a table and flower were stolen from her porch.
