AMWELL

Charged in crash: Michael Allen Komondor, 27, of 1014 Rear McKean Ave., Charleroi, was charged this week by state police with leaving the scene of a crash, failure to stay in his lane and failure to render aid after an Aug. 4 crash in the 400 block of Amity Ridge Road, Amwell. He allegedly struck an oncoming vehicle and fled. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Ethan Ward. 

MONONGAHELA

Charged in assault: Arthur W. Nash, 22, of 236 Cherry St., Monongahela, was arrested early Friday by Monongahela police after he allegedly assaulted a woman and prevented her from leaving his home to get help. He was arraigned before District Judge David Mark on charges of simple assault, unlawful restraint, harassment and disorderly conduct. He was placed in Washington County Jail on $5,000 bond.

NORTH STRABANE

Theft charge: Betty Eunice Riddle, 63, of West Sunbury, Butler County, was charged last week by state police with theft of property mislaid after she allegedly stole an envelope containing $160 that a woman dropped on the floor of The Meadows Casino, North Strabane, on June 23. Riddle did not make an effort to return the money, police said. The charge was sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

Drug charges: Michael S. Evans, 43, of Pittsburgh, was charged last week by state police with possession of marijuana and paraphernalia after he allegedly was found with the items at The Meadows Casino, North Strabane, on July 15. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

Charged in crash: Natalie Conroy, 19, of 316 Pleasant Ave., McMurray, was charged this week by North Strabane police with leaving the scene of an accident and failure to render aid after she allegedly crashed into the back of another vehicle on Route 19 near McClelland Road on Aug. 15 and left the scene of a crash. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

Unsworn falsification charge: Eric Pizzi, 41, of 4060 Dividend Drive, South Franklin Township, was charged this week  by North Strabane police with unsworn falsification and false reports to police after he allegedly lied to police when he claimed his vehicle had been stolen from a parking lot at 457 Racetrack Road on Aug. 8. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

Checkpoint charges: Benjamin A. Friday, 29, of 3265 Rainbow Run, Monongahela, was charged this week by North Strabane police with possession of paraphernalia and having an open container of alcohol after he allegedly was found with the items during a DUI checkpoint in the 2500 block of Washington Road on Aug. 12. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

SOMERSET

Two injured: Abigail Stenson, 38, of Richeyville, and her passenger, an 8-year-old girl, were injured Tuesday morning in a three-vehicle, chain-reaction crash on Route 519 near Donley Road, Somerset. State police identified the other drivers as Michael Pohlot, 31, of McMurray, and David Shepler, 45, of Champion. Stenson and her passenger were taken to Washington Hospital for treatment. She was cited by police for driving with a suspended license and following too closely.

SOUTH STRABANE

False information alleged: Jeramy Ray Ross, 35, of 114 Robert Lane, Canonsburg, was charged this week by South Strabane police with providing false information on a gun permit application, unsworn falsification and making a false statement while filling out paperwork March 27 to purchase a gun at Ace Sporting Goods, 462 Washington Road. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

Fraudulent card use: Patricia Hernandel of South Strabane told township police Thursday that her credit card information was used to make two purchases at a gasoline station in Philadelphia. She learned of the purchases from her credit card company.

WASHINGTON

Trespass, paraphernalia charges: Dalton G. Fonner, 22, of 381 1/2 Weirich Ave., Canton Township, was arraigned Thursday before District Judge David Mark on charges of possession of paraphernalia and criminal trespass filed by Washington police after he reportedly was found June 7 sleeping in a stairwell of the Crossroads parking garage, 50 N. Franklin St. He was released on his own recognizance.

Counterfeit money: A counterfeit $100 bill was passed Wednesday at the BP station at 1300 Jefferson Ave.

Rifle stolen: A Kel-Tec 9mm rifle was reported stolen Thursday from Justin’s Gun Shop, 542 E. Maiden St. The owner told police he was doing an inventory and discovered the gun was gone.

Vehicle entered: Penny Holmes of Linn Avenue told Washington police Thursday that a small amount of cash, a debit card and compact discs were stolen from her vehicle.

Wallet stolen: Judy Caldwell of Maple Avenue told Washington police Wednesday that her wallet containing a credit card and $75 was stolen from her vehicle.
