CANONSBURG

Traffic accident: Borough police responded to the intersection of West Pike Street and Hutchinson Avenue about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday when a sport-utility vehicle hit a utility pole, shearing it off. The SUV’s driver, who was already in an ambulance when the officer arrived, suffered the sole reported injury. The extent of the driver’s injuries and where he was taken weren’t clear from the report and the driver was not identified.

Drug charges: Borough police on Wednesday charged Brooke Johnson, 30, of Murdock Street with drug possession and delivery and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police accuse Johnson of having sold a baggie containing an unspecified amount of crack to an informant in late May. Charges were filed in District Judge David Mark’s office.

CECIL

Man jailed: Township police charged Brady Zombek, 25, with simple assault and harassment on Thursday. The night before, Zombek allegedly punched his brother twice in the face during an argument with the brother and brother’s girlfriend at Zombek’s McConnell Road home. Zombek was arraigned before District Judge Robert Redlinger and later released on a $1,000 percentage bond.

NORTH FRANKLIN

Retail theft charges: Malachi C. Simmons, 46, of Canton Township was arraigned before District Judge Robert Redlinger in three cases Wednesday. In two of them, North Franklin police accuse Simmons of stealing merchandise from Marshall’s in the Washington Crown Centter mall on several occasions in July and August. In a third case, city police charged Simmons with theft by deception and retail theft in connection with allegations he accepted a Chinese food delivery without paying. Court records show Simmons has been in the Washington County Jail since Aug. 9 on previously filed charges and is still being held there.

WASHINGTON

Man charged: Jason Hutter, 30, of Euclid Avenue was charged by city police Aug. 24 with simple assault and harassment. A woman reported to police that Hutter had shoved her and hit her in the head when he became physical with family members during an argument July 23. Charges were filed by summons at District Judge Robert Redlinger’s office.
