CALIFORNIA

Woman charged: Talia Combs, 21, of West Brownsville was charged by California police on Wednesday with aggravated assault, simple assault, criminal mischief and harassment on Wednesday. Police said Combs allegedly pushed a man with whom she was romantically involved and threw scissors at him, breaking a ceiling light, during an incident at a Beazel Street residence early that morning. Talia was freed on $5,000 unsecured bond set by District Judge Traci McDonald.

CANONSBURG

Domestic assault: Borough police charged Brandon L. Barron, 27, of Highland Avenue with strangulation, simple assault and harassment on Wednesday. The charges stem from a report by a woman the night before, when Barron allegedly punched her, pushed her into a chair and choked her following an argument. Barron was held in the Washington County jail on $15,000 bond set by District Judge Traci McDonald.

NORTH STRABANE

Man charged: Township police charged Brian G. Cole, 41, of Canonsburg on Tuesday with simple assault, harassment and criminal mischief in connection with incidents that evening and the one before during which he’d allegedly punched a woman and damaged her vehicle at her residence on Hunting Creek Road. Cole was held in the Washington County jail on $5,000 percentage bond set by District Judge Traci McDonald.

SOUTH STRABANE

Retail theft: Police expected to charge a man and woman who were allegedly caught shoplifting $173 in merchandise from the Trinity Point Walmart on Saturday.

Scam reported: A man told police on Nov. 30 that he’d been approached by another man in the parking lot of the Trinity Point Walmart. The second man reportedly accused the first of having run him of the road and causing him a flat tire. He demanded the other’s insurance information or $50 cash to call it even. The first man, who told police he didn’t think he’d run anyone off the road with his vehicle, gave him the money later decided the incident could have been part of a scam.

Theft report: A woman on Lakeview Drive reported on Nov. 30 that $40 worth of baby lotions had been stolen from a package in her mailbox. Township police advised her to report the theft to the shipped and U.S. Postal Service.

Batteries stolen: Township police said in a report they’re investigating a report of at least three people loading about 60 used vehicle batteries into a U-Haul from a fenced-in storage area outside the Walmart on Trinity Point on Nov. 26. Bolt cutters were used during the incident, which was reported to police on Nov. 30.

Inappropriate contact: An unidentified man in his 20s or 30s was reported to have approached a woman who’d been working the dressing rooms at Gabe’s on Nov. 27 and touched her inappropriately before running when he saw a male assistant manager.

UNION

Firearm violation: Monongahela police charged Jason C. Campbell, 32, of Wood County, W.Va., with carrying a concealed weapon without a permit and driving under the influence. Police said they found a loaded 9-mm in Campbell’s vehicle after arresting him on suspicion of drunk driving near the intersection of Route 88 and Washington Avenue. Campbell was held in the Washington County jail on $15,000 percentage bond set by District Judge Traci McDonald.
