BURGETTSTOWN
Retail theft charge: Cody Gregory Greer, 23, of 45 Colony Road, Burgettstown, was charged by McDonald police with retail theft after he allegedly stole $25 worth of cigarettes from a convenience store on Main Street Nov. 8.
CANTON
Assault charge: Steve Corey Law IV, 27, of 240 1/2 Caldwell Ave., Canton Township, was charged by state police with simple assault and two counts of harassment following a domestic incident in June. Police said Law got into an argument with his mother at his residence June 29. During the altercation, he allegedly hit his mother and slapped his pregnant sister in the face. He also allegedly shoved the pregnant woman multiple times. She was taken by ambulance to Washington Hospital for evaluation.
CLAYSVILLE
Assault charge: Alan U. Coburn, 20, of 68 Wagner Drive, McDonald, was charged by Donegal Township police with simple assault and harassment after he allegedly struck an elderly man with a shovel at a Wayne Street residence Nov. 20. Police said Coburn was helping his brother move out of a residence at 213 Wayne St., where the alleged victim, Charles White Sr., also resides. Police said Alan Coburn “became violent” while at the residence and shoved White to the ground multiple times before striking him multiple times with a plastic shovel. Police said White then picked up a weed trimmer to protect himself, but Coburn fled. Police said White had lacerations on his arm from the shovel.
ROSTRAVER
Theft alleged: Nicole Marie Davis, 32, of 38 Downer Ave., Uniontown, is charged by Rostraver police with access device fraud, identity theft and receiving stolen property, court records show. Police accuse Davis of breaking into a vehicle owned by Tracie Sutton and stealing items including checks while it was parked about 5 p.m. Oct. 14 at Rostraver Ice Garden, 101 Gallitin Road. The checks were written later that day to pay for $501 worth of merchandise at Rostraver Walmart. Senior District Judge Jesse J. Cramer signed a warrant Wednesday for Davis’ arrest.
SOUTH STRABANE
Harassment charge: A Washington man was cited by South Strabane Township police with harassment after he allegedly caused a scene at Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen on Oak Spring Road on Dec. 2. Richard A. Nietert, 62, was in the drive-through about 5:20 p.m., reportedly trying to use a coupon that didn’t match his order. When the store manager asked him to come inside the restaurant to resolve the issue, Nietert allegedly told his wife, “I’m just gonna shoot them up,” according to the police report. Police said that when he went inside, he caused a disturbance, threatening to blow up the restaurant. Police said customers fled for fear of their safety. Police said after Nietert was given his order, he left the building, and the manager locked the door. When police arrived, Nietert allegedly told them he didn’t want the food anymore, just his money back. Police gave him his money back, along with a citation for harassment.
Vehicle thefts: South Strabane Township police received several reports of vehicle break-ins in the 300 block of Crabapple Drive. Two neighbors each had a handgun stolen from their unlocked cars, and another neighbor had $75 worth of gift cards stolen Dec. 3. Multiple residents reported cash stolen from their unlocked cars on Stonehenge Drive the same night. Two cars on Emerald Drive were also broken into the same night and $30 was stolen, police reported.
Stolen vehicle: John Bull reported to South Strabane police that his company truck was stolen Dec. 3 from the Park and Ride lot on East Beau Street. The white truck has an aluminum flatbed and is worth about $25,000. Police said Bull and his brother had the only keys to the truck.
Criminal mischief: Police received a report that someone tried to break into a bucket truck parked at the street department’s building on Zediker Station Road Dec. 3. Police said the person also broke into a trailer, causing $500 worth of damage to the door and lock.
WASHINGTON
Drug charges: Christopher Daniel Thomas Jr., 24, of 100 W. Cherry St., Washington, was charged by state police with manufacturing with intent to deliver a controlled substance following an incident in June 2017. Police said that on June 28, 2017, Thomas sold 49 stamp bags of heroin and fentanyl to a confidential informant, who met with him in the 700 block of Ewing Street.
Woman charged: Washington Health System police charged Lauren J. Olshock, 33, of Canton Township with aggravated assault, simple assault, disorderly conduct and making terroristic threats. The charges stem from an incident on Dec. 2, when Olshock allegedly “lashed out” at Washington Hospital staff, including a police officer. She had been brought to the hospital when she threatened suicide and was trying to leave at the time of the purported attack. Olshock was charged by summons in District Judge Robert Redlinger’s office.
