Police: New Eagle man threatened to kill man with knife

NEW EAGLE – A New Eagle man is facing accusations he threatened to slice open the neck of a man he invited into his home early Sunday.

Monongahela police charged James Warren Jr.,61, in the case Monday, further accusing him of using an ethnic slur against the man following an argument.

Dylan Housley told police Warren pulled a knife on him and held it to his neck, police said.

Housley freed himself and fled the house at 463 Second Ave., while Warren shouted “I hate white people,” after he threatened to kill him, the record states. Warren is black, according to court records.

Warren is charged with aggravated assault, attempted aggravated assault, ethnic intimidation, unlawful restraint, making terroristic threats and reckless endangerment.

District Judge Mark Wilson issued the charges Monday in a summons.
