Woman charged in North Franklin assault case
Police are looking for three suspects who allegedly forced their way into a North Franklin Township home and beat up the three residents with a two-by-four.
Police responded to a home in the 1200 block of Overlook Drive Saturday morning for the report of an assault. Two men and a woman allegedly had knocked on the basement door about 9:15 a.m. When a resident opened the door, a man struck him in the head and face several times with the two-by-four.
Police said that man, a second man and Kiona Campbell then allegedly forced their way into the home and began beating up the homeowner and two other residents. Police said that the men took turns hitting the male resident in the face and head with the board, while Campbell hit a female resident in the face, and kicked her in the arms. Police said in a criminal complaint that Campbell then struck the homeowner in the back of the head several times.
When the three actors left the residence, police said that one of them struck a pit bull in the head, causing a brush burn. Police said the male resident suffered injuries to his head and face and the female resident suffered injuries to her arms.
Police charged Campbell, 26, of 1131 Sycamore St., Washington, with three counts of aggravated assault and one count each of criminal conspiracy and criminal trespass. She was also charged two counts each of simple assault and harassment and one count of cruelty to animals.
According to online court documents, Campbell has not yet been arraigned. No charges have yet been filed against the two men.
