During an 84 Lumber team headquarters holiday party Monday in Eighty Four, on lucky employee got the Christmas gift of a lifetime.

Randy Potdevin, co-manager of the Rockaway, N.J., store, and his wife, Melanie Ruskin, were the recipients of a brand new Jeep Wrangler Unlimited by company owner and president, Maggie Hardy.

Earlier this fall, employees from all over the country were given the chance to submit a 60-second video about what 84 Lumber means to them.

Potdevin’s story was chosen from more than 60 submissions. Hardy was touched by the winner’s story. Company spokeswoman Ashley Macik said that Potdevin suffered a “personal tragedy” and the company helped him transfer to the Rockaway location, closer to his hometown, but declined to go into detail.

Potdevin said he was just glad that he was able to say thank you in a video to Hardy and the company for supporting him and his family during their time of need.
