CANONSBURG

Purse, bag stolen: Ester Davis of Arch Street told Canonsburg police that her purse containing $350 and a black bag containing jewelry and credit cards were stolen from her unlocked vehicle. A white man, about 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall with dirty blond hair, was seen running away from the vehicle.

MONESSEN

Charged in dispute: Gregory Thomas Obrien, 27, of 220 McKee Ave., Monessen, is charged by city police with trespassing, loitering, criminal mischief and harassment, court records show. Police accuse Obrien of damaging his neighbor’s home security camera about 11:30 p.m. Feb. 2 and being seen in other security videos there attempting to get his neighbor’s attention. District Judge Joseph Dalfonso issued the charges in a summons Thursday. 

NORTH FRANKLIN

Welfare fraud alleged: Maggie Rae Desmond, 28, of 3000 W. Chestnut St., Washington, was charged Friday with welfare fraud by an agent with the state inspector general’s office. She is accused of collecting $1,164 in food stamp benefits and almost $5,966 in medical assistance while earning $38,573 working for a health care company between November 2015 and December 2016. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.

NORTH STRABANE

Assault alleged: Nickolas C. Hickton, 36, of 2002 Tall Grass Lane, Canonsburg, was charged Thursday by North Strabane police with aggravated assault, simple assault and harassment after he was identified as one of two men who allegedly assaulted a 33-year-old Washington man at Frankie I’s, 1180 Mapleview Drive, on March 18. The alleged victim suffered broken bones around both eyes, another broken bone and a concussion. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

Possession charge: Kurt Raymond Schussler, 55, of 1363 Meadowbrook Drive, was charged this week by North Strabane police with possession of heroin and paraphernalia after the items allegedly were found Tuesday when police were called to his home. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

Suboxone charges: Andrew N. Weinert, 35, of 100 Tandem Village Drive, was charged this week by North Strabane police with possession of Suboxone and paraphernalia after he allegedly was found with the items at a nursing facility. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

Window broken: Sharayah Childers of Weirton, W.Va., told North Strabane police early Friday that a window on her vehicle was broken while it was parked at Frankie I’s on Mapleview Drive.

False reports charge: Nolan Russell Povanesso, 26, of 142 Latimer Ave., Strabane, was charged this week by North Strabane police with false reports and harassment after he allegedly made false claims against a woman on Jan. 11. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

Forgery, theft charges: Joshua P. Merigo, 27, of 60 Carl Ave., Eighty Four, was charged Thursday by North Strabane police with forgery and theft. He is accused of stealing emission stickers from his employer, Russo’s Auto, 2603 Washington Road, in December. He then allegedly sold the stickers to customers and pocketed the money. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

ROSTRAVER

Assaults alleged: Timothy Joseph Mozgawa, 18, and his sister, Sara Mozgawa, 24, both of 231 Albee Drive, Rostraver Township, are charged by township police with simple assault and harassment stemming from an argument at their home about 11 p.m. Wednesday, court records show. They are free on unsecured bonds set by District Judge Joseph Dalfonso.

SOUTH STRABANE

Insurance fraud alleged: Elizabeth Marie Campbell, 26, of 706 Third St., Charleroi, was charged Tuesday by an agent with the state attorney general’s office with insurance fraud and theft by deception. Campbell reportedly did not have insurance when she was involved in a two-vehicle crash Sept. 7 on Interstate 70 in South Strabane. After the crash, she allegedly obtained coverage but not tell the company about the crash. She reportedly told an investigator she was hoping the insurance company would pay for the damage done to the other vehicle. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

Two injured: Dayton Blansett, 18, of 807 Country Club Road, Washington, faces charges after a two-vehicle crash Thursday night at North Main Street and Humbert Lane that injured his passenger and the other driver, identified as Michael Saimato, 31, of 967 Cherry Valley Road, Joffre. Police said drug paraphernalia was seized. Charges are pending toxicology tests on Blansett, police said.

Drug charges: India T. McCullough, 26, whose last known address was on Broad Street in Washington, was charged Tuesday by state police with possession with intent to deliver heroin after she allegedly sold the drug to a confidential informant in South Strabane in November 2015. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

Theft charges: Lamanda Nickole Blackburn, 36 Paxton St., Washington, was charged last week by South Strabane police with retail theft, theft by deception and receiving stolen property after she allegedly stole items valued at almost $180 from Walmart, Trinity Point, on Jan. 25 and returned the items for a gift card. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

Paraphernalia, trespass charges: Mary Jane Hartzog, 27, of 1719 Jefferson Ave., Washington, was charged last week by South Strabane police with possession of paraphernalia and defiant trespass after she allegedly was found with paraphernalia while at a Donnan Avenue apartment complex last month. She did not have permission to be at the complex. The charges will be sent summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

Television stolen: Pablo Nevel Jr., 36, of 40 McAdam Ave., Washington, was charged last week by South Strabane police with retail theft after he allegedly stole a 50-inch television from Walmart, Trinity Point, on Jan. 4. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

WASHINGTON

Charged in assault: Jeff Gordon, 60, of 161 Hall Ave., Washington, was charged Friday by Washington police with simple assault, disorderly conduct and harassment for allegedly grabbing a woman and pinning her against a wall during a confrontation at their home Feb. 2. The alleged victim told police they had been arguing over money and an Access card. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.

Checks stolen: Willis Hollingsworth of Hart Avenue told Washington police Thursday that two of his checks were stolen and cashed for a total of $165.

Medication stolen: Darrell Provance of 424 Burton Ave. told Washington police Thursday that prescription medication that had been delivered the previous day to his post office box had been stolen. Postal workers were not able to find the package.
