Flood watch issued for Monongahela River
The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch along the Monongahela River in Washington and Greene counties.
The watch begins Friday morning and ends Saturday evening at Locks and Dam No. 4 in Charleroi, the service’s Pittsburgh office said.
The river might reach the flood stage of 28 feet in Charleroi by late Friday morning. Moderate flooding is possible.
A storm system was approaching from the Ohio River Valley and was expected to produce widespread rain across the four-state region. The rain might be heavy at times.
