AMWELL
Driver charged: Louis Allen Jenkins, 49, of 112 Third St., Waynesburg, was charged this week by state police with driving under the influence of alcohol and a controlled substance, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, having an open container of an alcoholic beverage and traffic violations. Police said he was seen driving erratically and would not pull over for the trooper, driving two miles before stopping. He allegedly had open cans of a malt beverage in the vehicle. Police said his blood-alcohol content was more than three times the 0.08 percent limit at which intoxication is presumed. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Ethan Ward.
CALIFORNIA
Disorderly house citations: Carl Edward Cash III, 20, of McKeesport; Nicholas Edwin Conley, 20, of Abbottstown, Adams County; Payton Hicks, 19, of Turtle Creek; and Ryden James Lewis, 19, of North Versailles, were cited this week by California police for violating the borough’s disorderly house ordinance Jan. 26. They reportedly had a loud party in their Vulcan Village apartment.
CANONSBURG
Fraud reported: An 83-year-old Canonsburg woman told borough police Thursday she got a letter indicating she won money. When she called to claim her prize, the man who answered told her she would have to send $2,500 to start the process. When police called and gave the claim number, the man told the officer to call back the following day. When the officer asked why he had to wait, the caller hung up.
EAST WASHINGTON
Assault charges: James Ferguson, 50, of 166 S. Wade Ave., East Washington, was charged this week by East Washington police with aggravated assault, simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct for allegedly assaulting a 45-year-old man Feb. 10 inside Ferguson’s home. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
MARIANNA
Theft case: The theft of a chain and “no trespassing” signs at a ramp to Ten Mile Creek below the Marianna dam was reported Thursday to state police, a borough official said.
MONONGAHELA
Assaults alleged: Brennan Scott Kossol, 35, of 1005 Fourth St., Monongahela, is charged by city police with resisting arrest, simple assault, criminal mischief, harassment and institutional vandalism, court records show. Police accuse him of damaging eyeglasses belonging to two officers during a struggle while they responded to a complaint he grabbed and pushed his live-in girlfriend, Jennifer L. Hill, during an argument in their home about 3:45 a.m. Wednesday. District Judge Joshua Kanalis released Kossol on $15,000 unsecured bond.
Drug charges: Darian McDougald, 31, of 318 Ohio Ave., Clairton, is charged by city police with drug possession with intent to deliver and cocaine possession stemming from a traffic stop on the Monongahela Bridge about 4:50 p.m. Wednesday, court records show. A passenger in his vehicle, Jean Latae Nelson, 39, of 466 Third St., Clairton, is charged with drug possession and tampering with evidence over allegations she attempted to hide the drug in a body cavity. Nelson will receive her charges by summons. District Judge Curtis Thompson signed an arrest warrant for McDougald to be served after the suspect finishes treatment for a medical issue.
Woman injured: A 78-year-old woman suffered broken bones in a fall about 4:40 p.m. Thursday in the McDonald’s parking lot at 301 W. Main St., city police said. Washington County 911 dispatched officers to the scene after receiving a report a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle. Police said they found no evidence to support that claim.
NORTH STRABANE
Drug charges: Shea M. Pryor, 31, of Washington, was charged by North Strabane police with possession of heroin and paraphernalia after he allegedly was found Tuesday with suspected heroin in his vehicle in the lot of Canonsburg Hospital. Police said he went to the emergency room for treatment of injuries suffered in an all-terrain vehicle crash. A hospital employee became suspicious when he went back out to his vehicle after being checked in for treatment, and spotted him as he allegedly started to use the suspected drug. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
False ID charge: Brooks Lea-Alex Johnson, 26, of 344 Ridge Ave., Canonsburg, was charged by North Strabane police with false identification to police and driving with a suspended license after she was stopped Sunday while driving with a flat tire on Route 19. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Crash reported: Steven Sporcic, 58, of 202 Dilly St., Midway, and Matthew S. Frazier, 26, of 307 Arrowhead Lane, Canonsburg, escaped injury when their vehicles collided Thursday night. North Strabane police said Sporcic’s vehicle struck the rear of Frazier’s vehicle on the Interstate 79 southbound off-ramp at Weavertown Road. Police said Sporcic appeared to be highly intoxicated and was taken to Canonsburg Hospital, where blood was drawn. Charges are pending the outcome of the tests. Police said they found two bottles of what Sporcic said was moonshine in his pickup truck.
PETERS
Drug arrest: Samantha C. Bennett, 22, of 916 Old Washington Road, McMurray, was arrested Friday by a Washington County Drug Task Force detective on charges of possession and possession with intent to deliver marijuana and possession of paraphernalia. Detectives served a search warrant at her home Dec. 8 after she allegedly sold the drug to a confidential informant. Police said they found suspected marijuana, paraphernalia and $1,611. Bennett was arraigned before District Judge Jesse Pettit and placed in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond.
SOUTH STRABANE
Burglary, theft charges: Glenn A. Flory Jr., 30, of 6 Maple Alley, Marianna, was charged this week by South Strabane police with burglary, theft and criminal trespass for allegedly entering Penn Station Subs, Old Mill Boulevard, using his key after hours Feb. 5 and stealing $1,444. Police said he was seen on surveillance inside the business. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Two charged: Kelsey Lynn Gray, 24, of 747 N. Main St., Houston, and Shea M. Pryor, 31, of Washington, face charges stemming from an incident Wednesday in the parking lot near Target in Strabane Square. South Strabane police were notified by a witness of suspected drug activity. Gray is charged with possession of a controlled substance and paraphernalia. Pryor is charged with possession of paraphernalia and endangering the welfare of a child. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
WASHINGTON
Harassment charge: Michael Wilson, 49, of 561 Malone Ridge Road, Washington, will be charged by Washington police with harassment after he allegedly followed his former roommate’s vehicle Thursday in the 200 block of Jefferson Avenue. She told police it was the fifth time he followed her.
Scam suspected: A 71-year-old Washington man told Washington police Thursday he got a call from someone claiming to represent West Penn Power telling him his January electric bill was not credited because he did not sign his check. He was told to obtain a cash card for $191.96 from Rite Aid. When he went to the store, the cashier told him it was likely a scam and to contact police. An electric company representative also told him to contact police. The caller reportedly had the victim’s correct account number and amount of his bill.
Money stolen: Nathaniel Griffin of Canonsburg told Washington police Thursday $200 was stolen from him when he was given a ride to Jollick Manor.
