BENTLEYVILLE
Faces charges: Kenneth Leroy Brown, 54, of Bentleyville, faces several charges including possession of a controlled substance and resting arrest after a traffic stop Friday by Bentleyville police. He allegedly refused police commands to put his hands on the car and ran across Beallsville Road into woods while throwing several items. He was caught and fought with officers. Police found him with several bags of marijuana. He also had been drinking, police said. He was placed in Washington County Jail on a probation detainer. Charges will be filed at the office of District Judge Curtis Thompson.
BURGETTSTOWN
House burglary: Charles Dougherty, 26 Linden Ave., Burgettstown, told McDonald police Dec. 24 that his home was entered and a bedroom ransacked but nothing was apparently stolen.
CALIFORNIA
Threats, assault charge: Gregory Sokol, 31, of 215 Ohio St., Pricedale, was arrested Monday morning by California police after he allegedly slammed a woman against the wall and threatened her during a confrontation at 633 American St., California. He was arraigned before District Judge David Mark on charges of terroristic threats, simple assault and harassment. He was placed in Washington County Jail on $50,000 bond.

Assault arrest: Derrick J. Andrews, 34, of 304 Grace Ave., Canonsburg, was arrested early Monday by borough police on charges of simple assault and harassment for allegedly hitting a woman in the head during a confrontation at their home. He was arraigned before District Judge David Mark and released from Washington County Jail after posting $5,000 bond.
ATV stolen: Robert Labossiere, 330 Bow St., told Canonsburg police Saturday that a Polaris Sportsman all-terrain vehicle owned by a Canton Township man was stolen from outside his home. He told police he was repairing the vehicle for the owner.
CANTON
Assault arrest: James G. Megyesy, 47, of 145 Ohio St., Canton, was arrested by state police on charges of simple assault and harassment after he allegedly assaulted a Chartiers man during a confrontation at his Canton home Sunday night. He was arraigned before District Judge David Mark and released from Washington County Jail after posting $5,000 bond.
INDEPENDENCE
Burglary reported: An employee of Uni Mart, 35 Campbell St., Avella, told McDoanald police Dec. 21 that a burglar broke the glass door and entered the building. Stolen from the store were two lock boxes containing about $650. A crow bar and coins were later found behind a home on Brush Run Road. Police also found two lock boxes on a trail behind the home.

Officer assaulted: April Renee Jones, 29, of 169 Meneely Road, Burgettstown, will be charged by McDonald police with aggravated assault, disorderly conduct, driving under the influence of alcohol and careless driving stemming from a Dec. 24 incident on Dickson Street, Midway. She reportedly created a disturbance and then fled the scene. She was stopped a short time later in Mt. Pleasant. Her blood alcohol level was more than double the 0.08 percent limit presumed for intoxication. Police learned that she was wanted on a probation detainer. After she arrived at Washington County Jail, she allegedly rammed her shoulder into a McDonald police officer. She will be arraigned on the charges at a later date.
NORTH STRABANE
Three injured: Three people were injured in a two-vehicle crash on Route 19 at the intersection of Galley and McClelland roads about 3 a.m. Monday, North Strabane police said. A vehicle driven by Zackery George Usselman, 21, of Moon Township, failed to stop, striking a car driven by Megan Williams, 26, also of Moon. She along with her front seat passenger, Mark Andrew Hartz, 30, of Coraoplis, were taken to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. Her back seat passenger, Kevin Yakelis, 31, of McKees Rocks, was taken to Canonsburg Hospital. Usselman was taken to Canonsburg Hospital, where blood was drawn to determine if he was intoxicated.
DUI crash: Jared D. Loughman, 22, of 118 Baltimore Ave., North Franklin Township, will be charged by North Strabane police with driving under the influence of alcohol after he reportedly crashed his vehicle into a vehicle driven by William Young, 69, of Washington, about 7:20 p.m. Monday on Racetrack Road at Meadowlands Boulevard.
NOTTINGHAM
Pole hit: Brianna Bier, 25, of Eighty Four, and her passenger escaped injury Sunday night when her westbound vehicle crossed into the eastbound lane of the 2400 block of Route 136, Nottingham and hit a utility pole, state police said. She will be cited with failure to drive at a safe speed.
ROSTRAVER
Parking lot rage: Kacee Lee Sabo, 36, of 107 Johnson Hollow Road, Fayette City, is charged by township police with reckless endangerment, simple assault and harassment, court records show. Police accuse Sabo of spitting in Anthony Thorpe’s face before retrieving a .380-caliber handgun from her vehicle and pointing it at him after becoming angry when they backed out of parking spaces at the same time about 8 p.m. Dec. 15 at 200 Sara Way. District Judge Joseph Dalfonso issued the charges Thursday in a summons.
Woman charged: Jessica Leigh Bellora, 27, of 106 Mathews Road, Rostraver Township, is charged by township police with trespassing and harassment over allegations she slapped Brian Rose when she refused to leave his neighboring residence about 6:30 p.m. Dec. 21, court records show. District Judge Joseph Dalfonso issued the charges Thursday in a summons.
Theft charge: Township police charged Sylvia April Tom, 39, of 114 Homewood Ave., Washington Township, Fayette County, with retail theft and false identification to law enforcement following an alleged incident at the Shop ‘n Save on Dec. 24, township police said.
Drug case: Danielle Rene Kissell, 30, of 446 Fourth St., Smithton, faces charges of possessing a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia after being arrested on Harper Drive around 8:45 a.m. Thursday, Rostraver police said.
Drug charges: Township police charged Cameron Chanell Brice, 18, of 241 Matthews Road, Rostraver Township, with possessing a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia at his Rostraver Apartments unit around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, police said.
SOUTH STRABANE
Assault arrest: Justin V. White, 37, of 231 N. DePaoli Road, McDonald, was arrested Friday on charges of simple assault, harassment and driving under suspension filed by South Strabane police after he allegedly assaulted a woman in a vehicle as he left the parking lot of Strabane Square on Dec. 26. The alleged assault was witnessed by an off-duty township police officer. He was arraigned before District Judge Robert Redlinger and released from Washington County Jail after posting $5,000 bond.
Driver cited: Ashley Anderson, 31, of Washington, will be charged by state police with failure to stay in her lane after crashing into two guardrails on Interstate 79 north near the Meadow Lands exit, South Strabane, early Monday. Her car then went down an embankment in the median.
WASHINGTON
House entered: Alex Krzywiecz, 38 W. Walnut St., reported to Washington police Thursday that a Playstation and controllers were stolen from the residence.
Purse, cash stolen: Brooke Forte, 560 E. Maiden St., told Washington police Monday that her purse containing $500, car keys and two iPhones were stolen from her home. Police have a suspect.
Disorderly charge: Ronald A. Paith Jr., 18, of 123 Poplar St., Washington, will be charged by Washington police after he reportedly failed to leave Lincoln Terrace late Sunday. Police were called to the area after getting reports of two underage drinking parties.
Card stolen: Michael Richards Sr. of Canton Township told Washington police Saturday that he mistakenly left his credit card at Get Go, East Wylie Avenue. The card was used to make almost $300 in purchases at three Washington area businesses.
Gun found: A. .22-caliber revolver reported stolen in October 2016 in Scott Township was found last month at Ducky’s Car Wash, 100 Henderson Ave. Washington police were notified Friday and contacted Scott police.
