Cook to host opioid initiative meeting

State Rep. Bud Cook, R-West Pike Run, will host the third and final segment of the Solving the Opioid Crisis Initiative at 6 p.m. Jan. 18 at the Fallowfield Township Fire Department, 1660 Route 481, Charleroi.

The segment will focus on prevention, and Cheryl Andrews, executive director of the Washington Drug and Alcohol Commission, will be speaking. Other speakers include Dr. Paul Niemiec, director of counseling for Catholic Charities, and Donna George, alcohol and drug coalition coordinator with the State System of Higher Education. Seating is limited, and those planning to attend should register by calling Cook’s Bentleyville office at 724-669-2242.
