Police reviewing surveillance in Monongahela Rite Aid robbery
MONONGAHELA – Police in Monongahela were reviewing video surveillance from a variety of locations Monday as officers attempted to identify a suspect in a robbery a day earlier at a Rite Aid store.
A store employee identified the suspect as a white man about 5 feet, 7 inches tall. He was wearing a hooded jacket and hat when he robbed the store about 4:40 p.m., police said. The robber had a hole in his pants, the employee said.
The man walked in and said, “Give me the money,” before lifting up his shirt.
“They believed he had a gun,” Monongahela police Chief Brian Tempest said.
The robber was inside the pharmacy and store at 446 W. Main St. for only about a minute, police said.
He stole the cash from the store’s register and fled in a car, possibly with another person.
The business is across the street from City Hall.
