Charleroi man jumps to his death
A Charleroi man died after he reportedly jumped from a scenic overlook on the Charleroi-Monessen Bridge over the Monongahela River late Thursday.
Richard Moulds, 55, was spotted jumping from the overlook about 8:40 p.m. by a Charleroi Regional police officer.
Moulds’ body was recovered by crews from the Charleroi and Webster volunteer fire departments. He was pronounced dead at the scene at the North Charleroi Seventh Street Outfall. Washington County Coroner Tim Warco said the cause and manner of death are pending.
Also assisting were firefighters from Lock Four and Monessen police.
