Rolling road closures planned on Interstate 79
There will be a police-assisted rolling closure on Interstate 79 near McClelland Road in North Strabane Township. The 15-minute closure will occur between 6 and 9 a.m. Sunday so that a fiber optic cable can be pulled across the Interstate.
A rolling closure is when vehicles are used to gradually slow down the motorists who are following them and then stop them temporarily to allow enough time for maintenance to be carried out. The assistance vehicles will be state police.
