Washington man being held without bond after arrest

A Washington man, already facing charges filed against him by several police agencies, was being held without bond in Washington County jail after his most recent arrest early Thursday by McDonald police.
District Judge Joshua Kanalis denied bond for Anthony Neal Bable, 24, of 801 Broad St., Washington, noting he has several outstanding criminal cases pending against him, as well as 20 summary citations.
Bable was arrested Thursday on charges of criminal trespass, loitering and prowling at night, disorderly conduct and possession of paraphernalia after he allegedly entered a home on Olive Street, Burgettstown, about 2 a.m. and went to sleep on a couch.
The homeowner told police he and his wife were sleeping in an upstairs bedroom when they heard their dogs howling and barking. He said he went downstairs to investigate and saw Bable passed out on their couch. The homeowner went back upstairs and retrieved a handgun to protect his family until police arrived.
Police said Bable, who apparently entered the home through a back door, told officers he had been drinking. After he was awakened by police, the former Langeloth man reportedly said he realized he entered the wrong residence.
Bable faces a July 30 preliminary hearing before District Judge Robert Redlinger on terroristic threats and harassment charges filed against him by Washington police after he allegedly threatened to burn down his girlfriend’s house, kill her dog and damage her vehicle.
He also has two cases pending at the office of District Judge Gary Havelka. State police charged him almost two years ago with driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to stay in his lane and failure to drive at a safe speed, stemming from a crash on eastbound Route 22 in Hanover Township. Police said his blood-alcohol content was almost double the 0.08 percent limit at which intoxication is presumed.
Smith Township police charged Bable with DUI, having an open container of alcohol and several traffic violations after a Dec. 31 traffic stop on Manor Drive. Mt. Pleasant police also charged him with DUI after an April 18 incident.
Bable is scheduled for a July 26 preliminary hearing before Havelka on the most recent charges.
