FRANKLIN

Drug possession charges: Christopher Paul Moore, 30, of Beaver Falls, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, along with two summary driving violations, in connection with an incident Saturday. State police were called to the 1500 block of Smith Creek Road for a report of a suspicious vehicle parked on private property. Moore told police he had driven to that location to sleep after a fight with his roommate. Police said the trooper could see a glass smoking pipe on the passenger seat, and two partial white pills were found when Moore was searched. Moore said the medication was Suboxone, for which he did not have a prescription, according to the criminal complaint.

Damage to hotel room alleged: A Texas man is accused of damaging a hotel room early Friday. Thomas Joseph Calzado, 29, of San Antonio, is accused of burning bedding, causing smoke damage to bedding, making a hole in a hallway wall, damaging wall trim and breaking both a smoke detector and a phone at the Super 8 Hotel in Franklin Township about 12:25 a.m. Criminal mischief charges will be filed, state police said.

WHITELEY

Theft from vending machine: State police are investigating a theft from a vending machine at the Kirby Welcome Center between midnight and 4 a.m. July 18. Someone opened an unlocked machine and stole about $80.
