NORTH STRABANE
Driver charged: Russell Eugene Beck Jr., 49, of Gibsonia, was charged last week by state police in connection with a May 12 crash on Interstate 79 near the Canonsburg exit, North Strabane. Police received several reports of a driver gong north in the southbound lanes. Beck’s vehicle went ff the highway into the median, traveling about 200 yards before coming to a stop. He reportedly told police he must have ended up going the wrong way when he swerved to miss a deer. Beck is charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to drive on the right side of the road, failure to stay in his lane and careless driving. Police said his blood-alcohol content was almost twice the 0.08 percent limit at which intoxication is presumed. Charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
ROSTRAVER
Drug charges: Christine Michelle Bednar, 27, of 2008 Tall Grass Lane, Cecil Township, is charged by Rostraver police with possessing seven stamp bags of heroin and possessing drug paraphernalia after she allegedly was found slumped over in her vehicle in the McDonald’s parking lot on Rostraver Road about 1 a.m. July 15, court records show. She will receive the charges in a summons issued Monday.
Assault alleged: Dylan Collage, 21, of McKeesport, is charged by township police with simple assault, harassment, possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, court records show. Police accuse Collage of repeatedly striking his father, Michael Collage, in the head and pushing him out of a vehicle in a Tri County Plaza parking lot about 7 p.m. July 19. He is free on $10,000 unsecured bond.
Man charged: Corey James Johnson, 31, of 815 McKean Ave., Charleroi, is charged by township police with public drunkenness and trespassing after he allegedly was found passed out in a hallway at Rostraver Apartments, 111 Mathews Road, about 1 a.m. July 15, court records show. He will receive the charges in a summons issued Monday.
SOUTH STRABANE
Tree stand stolen: David Clinger told South Strabane police Monday that his swivel-seat tree stand with a blind was stolen from Wounded Warriors property on Mitchell Road. He told police the tree stand had been at that location for four years.
UNION
Man jailed: Thomas Gorley Parry, 67, of 18 Elrama Ave., Elrama, is charged by Monongahela police with resisting arrest and being a habitual offender stemming from a traffic stop about 5:50 p.m. Monday at Jones Street and Route 837, court records show. He also faces citations that include driving with a suspended or revoked license. Parry was placed in Washington County Jail on $25,000 bond set by District Judge Mark Wilson.
