The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission is advising motorists that the Pennsylvania Turnpike will be closed in both directions between Exit 75 in New Stanton and Exit 161 in Breezewood starting at 11 p.m. Saturday and continuing until about 6 a.m. Sunday, weather permitting.

The seven-hour closure is needed for crews to safely remove the original bridge that carried traffic on North Center Avenue (SR 601) over the turnpike at milepost 110 in Somerset, Somerset County. Currently, traffic on North Center Avenue is using a temporary bridge that spans the turnpike until a permanent, overhead bridge is built.

Traffic will be detoured.
