Gas prices finally dip a little in Washington, Western Pa.
Gasoline prices in Western Pennsylvania finally dropped this week — by only a half-cent.
They fell to an average of $3.147 for a gallon of unleaded self-serve, according to a report from AAA East Central on Monday. That figure is down slightly from $3.152 last week, but the new average is 51.4 cents higher than it was a year ago, at $2.633.
Pennsylvania’s prices dipped two cents to $3.10 per gallon. Prices dipped or held steady in every state in the Mid-Atlantic/Northeast region for the first time in months.
Washington’s average fell for the first time in weeks, to $3.157 a 2.6-cent decrease from $3.183. That figure ranks 13th among 22 Western Pennsylvania cities and towns listed by AAA. Altoona ($3.010) had the lowest average, Brookville ($3.245) the highest. Uniontown is at $3.149.
The U.S. average is $2.95, down exactly two cents over the week — the first national decrease since mid-March.
