East Washington police have charged a man for burglarizing a Harrison Street home Friday.

Clayton Warmus, 26, who told police he is homeless, was found inside the home, police said.

Washington police, who were called to assist, could be heard by borough police giving commands for someone to show his hands after Warmus reportedly ran to the glass door at the front of the house. Warmus was taken into custody after a brief chase inside the house, according to police.

Police said they found three bottles of alcohol on the floor, along with an Xbox console. They said Warmus had a video game in his right front pocket. Police said a screen had been removed from a window, which was open.

Warmus was arraigned Monday before District Judge Jesse Pettit on charges of burglary, criminal trespass and theft. Pettit set bond on Warmus, who had been placed in Washington County jail on a bench warrant, at $250,000. He is scheduled for a June 12 preliminary hearing before District Judge Jay Weller.
