State Rep. Jason Ortitay, R-South Fayette Township, will host a shredding event from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, June 16, at the Original Farmers Market to give residents of the 46th Legislative District a chance to securely destroy their personal documents and safeguard themselves against identity theft.

The event, held at 151 Parks Road in McDonald, will accept all paper documents to be shredded, but no phonebooks, newspapers or bound books. Households are limited to no more than three grocery bags or small boxes of personal documents. The event is not for businesses and will also feature information about consumer protection and identity theft.
