NORTH STRABANE

Driver charged: Kevin McGaughey Kavanaugh, 35, of Greenwood, Miss., was arrested Saturday morning by North Strabane police on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and criminal trespass after an incident at Wendy’s, Racetrack Road. Police were called after employees reported he pulled up to the drive-thru window, got out of his pickup truck and went into a storage cooler outside the restaurant. Police found his truck at the second window. Kavanaugh, who refused to submit to a blood-alcohol test, was arraigned before District Judge Mark Wilson and released on his own recognizance.

ROSTRAVER

New charges filed: Larry Glenn Boiling, 25, of 626 Twilight Drive, New Eagle, was charged last week by Rostraver police with theft and receiving stolen property stemming from a May 30 theft from a customer at Walmart, Rostraver Square. Police had been misled in their investigation when it was discovered he had given police an alias and the officer filed charges against this name. Those charges have since been withdrawn.

SOMERSET

Crash closes road: The southbound lane Route 519 near Old Monongahela Pike, Somerset, was closed for about 45 minutes Thursday afternoon after a two-vehicle crash. State police said Julia Stein, 19, of Houston, made a left turn from a parking lot in the 800 block of Route 519 into the path of a northbound pickup truck driven by Ethan Bayless, 26, of Cokeburg. The truck spun 180 degrees and the right rear wheel was torn off in the crash. The truck came to rest in the southbound lane. No injuries were reported. Stein was charged with making an improper left turn.
