CANTON
Theft charge: State police charged Shane M. Fuller, 18, of Canton, with theft and criminal mischief in connection with allegations he stole an iPhone May 17 and later smashed it. Charges were filed Wednesday at District Judge David Mark’s office.
Trespassing: John L. Kosek, 50, of Canonsburg, was charged with trespassing Wednesday by state police. The manager of Washington Estates Mobile Home Park, which is off Henderson Avenue, told police Kosek was at the park, even though he isn’t allowed there. The charge was filed at District Judge David Mark’s office.
CALIFORNIA
Retail theft, prowling charges: Jason Nathaniel Perry, 33, of California, was lodged in the county jail Wednesday on charges of retail theft, receiving stolen property, theft, prowling and disorderly conduct. Borough officers charged Perry with prowling at Todd’s Beer Distributorship, 62 Third St., May 22 and with stealing $8 worth of beer from Campy’s Pizza shop, 128 Wood St., May 23. District Judge Robert Redlinger arraigned Perry, setting a percentage bond at $5,000. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 25 before District Judge Joshua Kanalis.
NORTH STRABANE
DUI charges: Township police charged John J. Curtin, 56, of Crafton, Allegheny County, Monday with driving under the influence, drug possession, possession of drug paraphernalia and traffic offenses. Police searched a pickup truck Curtin was driving after seeing him at the BP station on Route 519. They said they found empty stamp bags, others containing suspected heroin and at least one syringe in the truck. The stamp bags were reportedly stamped “Bin Laden.” Police said Curtin’s blood tested positive for cocaine and opioids. The charges were filed by summons Tuesday at District Judge Jay Weller’s office.

Plate stolen: A license plate was stolen from a trailer owned by an Ellwood City man while it was parked at the Alex Paris pipe yard, 66 Donley Road, between March 1 and Monday, state police said.
SOUTH STRABANE
Drug charges: Township police charged Zachary J. Mingo, 30, of Washington, Wednesday with drug possession and possessing paraphernalia after police arrested him on a probation warrant at Giant Eagle Monday. Police said they found a syringe, four empty stamp bags and six stamp bags containing suspected opioids in Mingo’s pockets. The bags were stamped “Super Mario,” police said. Mingo remained in Washington County jail following his arraignment before District Judge Jay Weller, who set bond at $1,000.
