Corbly Reunion in Garards Fort to focus on Whiskey Rebellion

The 87th John Corbly Reunion is scheduled for Sunday with activities beginning at 9:30 a.m. with a church service at John Corbly Memorial Baptist Church in Garards Fort.
A program, luncheon and tour of Garards Fort cemetery are scheduled immediately following the service. Clay Kilgore, executive director of the Washington County Historical Society, will discuss Corbly’s role in the Whiskey Rebellion and offer viewpoints of both the frontier rebels and the federal government.
Corbly, a Revolutionary War soldier, was an early settler in Greene County, establishing over 30 Baptist churches in the region. The reunion is open to descendants and the public.
