MONONGAHELA
Child endangerment: Katie Ann Kelley, 24, of Lot 5 Evergreen Second St., Greensboro, faces two counts of child endangerment after two children were found alone during a welfare check at her property June 11. A dog warden called state police during a dog compliance check. Two children, ages 7 and 2, were at the home unattended. The 7-year-old said he was watching his younger brother. Inside, feces was smeared on the floor and there were two large dogs. There was no proper bedding for the children, state police said, and both had multiple red marks on their bodies. They were taken into emergency protective custody by Greene County Children and Youth Services. When she returned home, Kelley told state police that she went to another residence “to help a friend with taking her medication” and that she was gone for “a couple of minutes,” according to court documents.
