West Greene FFA club places first at statewide event

West Greene Future Farmers of America members placed first in the State FFA Livestock’s career development event during the 89th FFA Summer Activities Week held June 12 to 14 at Penn State University. The four-member team evaluated and placed six classes of livestock, three keep cull classes, gave two sets of oral reasons, had a genetics and marketing problem to determine and a livestock knowledge test. The team will represent Pennsylvania in the National FFA Livestock CDE in Indianapolis in October. The team members include Makenzie Thomas, Courtney Ross, Savannah Pettit and Avery Berdine. Other members participating were Benjamin Archer, Haleigh Thomas, Kenneth Jones, Emily Cooke and Kaden Bennington. Caitlin Orndorff was a state officer candidate and participated in the SR Prepared Public Speaking.
