NORTH CHARLEROI – A state police fire marshal was asked to investigate the cause of a fire that damaged a house Wednesday in North Charleroi.

The fire appeared to have started in the kitchen of 320 Isabella Ave. about 2:45 p.m., Lock Four fire Chief Fred Schwalb said.

A woman whose identity was not immediately known managed to flee the house unharmed along with her cat and two dogs, Schwalb said.

He said firefighters treated the cat and one of the dogs with oxygen.
