CECIL

Assault arrest: Sarah E. Smith, 67, of 223 Watson St., McDonald, was arrested Tuesday by Cecil police on charges of simple assault and harassment after she allegedly assaulted her husband during a confrontation at their home. She was arraigned before District Judge Curtis Thompson and placed in Washington County Jail on $500 bond.

CHARLEROI

Restaurant cited: The state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement cited the operators of Rego’s Restaurant and Hotel, 601 McKean Ave., Charleroi, Monday for allegedly posting a notice that the establishment was closed for a reason other then the suspension of its license on April 30.

MONONGAHELA

Strangulation, assault arrest: Cody James Bennett, 35, of 1020 Marne Ave., Monongahela, was arrested Tuesday night by Monongahela police on charges of strangulation, simple assault and harassment. Police were called about 10:25 p.m. for a report of a vehicle crashed into a pole on the area of 200 Dry Run Road. Bennett’s fiancee told police that he grabbed her around the throat as she drove, causing her to veer into the pole. Bennett was arraigned before District Judge Curtis Thompson after he was treated at Monongahela Valley Hospital. He was released on $10,000 unsecured bond. His fiancee was treated at the accident scene.

PETERS

Deception alleged: Mark Allen Sager, 28, of 313 Silver Maple Ave., Langeloth, was charged Tuesday by Peters police with deceptive or fraudulent business practices after he allegedly was paid $400 by an Oak Ridge Drive resident to do work at his house last August. Sager, operating as Working Class Construction, reportedly never did the work or refunded the money. The charge was sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jesse Pettit.

Resisting, false ID charges: Robert William Labossiere, 29, of 425 East St., Canonsburg, was charged Monday by Peters police with resisting arrest, false identification to police and possession of marijuana and paraphernalia after an incident Saturday on Elizabeth Drive. Police received a complaint of two men walking through yards and going onto porches. Police later found Labossiere, who allegedly gave a false name and struggled with police as they took him into custody. He was placed in Washington County Jail on a probation violation. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jesse Pettit. 

Hindering charge: Lawrence N. Farkas, 67, of 123 Elm Grove Drive, McMurray, was charged Monday by Peters police with hindering apprehension after he allegedly twice denied knowing the whereabouts of Benjamin Farkas, who was wanted on a bench warrant. He also allegedly failed to contact authorities with information about the other man’s whereabouts. Police said Benjamin Farkas was found June 14 at the Elm Grove Drive home. The charge was sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jesse Pettit.

SOUTH STRABANE

Theft arrest: Terri Tashaya Rudolph, 24, of Pittsburgh, was arrested Tuesday by South Strabane police on charges of retail theft and possessing instruments of a crime after she allegedly stole items from H&M and Tommy Hilfiger, both at Tanger Outlets. She was arraigned before District Judge Curtis Thompson and placed in Washington County Jail on $10,000 bond.

WASHINGTON

Window broken: Amy Richardson of 161 Church St. told Washington police Monday that a window at her home was broken during an unspecified incident.

Tip jar, chips stolen: A manager at Subway, 317 Jefferson Ave., told Washington police Monday that a tip jar and several bags of chips were stolen. She said a teenage boy wearing a black T-shirt and tan pants stole the jar, while a teenage boy wearing a red shirt stole the chips. When they left the restaurant, the two fled in opposite directions.

Package stolen: David Bowser of Maple Terrace told Washington police Monday that a package delivered to his house Saturday that contained a pair of black Asics sneakers was stolen. 

Television stolen: Gregory Schmitt of 665 Broad St. told Washington police Monday that a Vizio plasma television was stolen from his porch.

Window damaged: An employee of Citizens Bank, 40 S. Main St., told Washington police Monday that a window was damaged over the weekend.
