CANTON

Assault arrest: Clinton Blakely Keller, 30, of 30 Bel Air Drive, Canton, was arrested Wednesday night by state police on charges of simple assault, unauthorized use of a vehicle, criminal trespass and harassment after he allegedly punched a woman following an argument at an apartment on Bel Air. He then allegedly took her vehicle without permission. He was arraigned before District Judge Curtis Thompson and released on $10,000 unsecured bond.

CHARLEROI

Drug case: Billie Jo Ashbaugh, 28, of 938 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, is charged by state police with drug possession with intent to deliver, drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia, court records show. Police accuse Ashbaugh of selling a confidential informant 10 stamp bags of heroin in a controlled buy May 3, 2016, at Eighth Street and Meade Avenue. District Judge Larry Hopkins issued the charges Tuesday in a summons.

NORTH CHARLEROI

Theft alleged: Rusty Lee McGhen, 40, of McKeesport, is charged by Charleroi Regional police with theft over allegations he accepted $1,000 in advance to replace a door in the 300 block of Pennsylvania Avenue last October and didn’t perform the work, court records show. District Judge Larry Hopkins set bond Thursday at $25,000 for McGhen, who is in Fayette County jail on unrelated charges.

NORTH FRANKLIN

Insurance fraud alleged: Jonathan Ryan McDaniel, 33, of Ocala, Fla., formerly of North Franklin, and Theresa Payne-Price, 57, of Washington, were arraigned Wednesday before District Judge Jesse Pettit on charges of insurance fraud and theft by deception stemming from a crash last October near McDaniel’s former home on Nokomis Drive. He reportedly backed into a vehicle owned by Payne-Price and driven by her daughter. According to a criminal complaint filed by an agent with the state attorney general’s office, McDaniel did not have insurance at the time. He got insurance after the crash, and he, along with Payne-Price, allegedly filed a claim indicating the crash happened Oct. 16, a day later than it actually occurred. The two were released on their own recognizance.

NORTH STRABANE

Cellphone stolen: A Pittsburgh man told state police at the Meadows Casino, Racetrack Road, North Strabane, early Thursday he misplaced his cellphone and believed it was stolen.

WASHINGTON

Purse stolen: Jocelyn Hupp of West Katherine Avenue told Washington police Wednesday her purse and makeup bag were stolen from her vehicle.

Mower stolen: Mark Robertson of Venetia told Washington police Wednesday his lawn mower was stolen from a yard at 380 Duncan Ave. and then sold at a Washington pawn shop. Police said charges are pending.
