An Independence Township woman was charged this week by Avella Area School District police officer with unauthorized school bus entry after she allegedly got on a bus without permission last month.

Ashley M. Davin, 25, of 462 Narigon Run Road, also is charged with disorderly conduct in connection with the alleged Feb. 13 incident.

The bus driver told police he was signaled by Davin to stop the bus as he was traveling on Narigon Run near Mount Hope Road about 3:30 p.m. The driver stopped the bus to see what she wanted, and when he opened the door, she allegedly got on the bus.

After getting on the bus, she allegedly asked the driver to identify a boy who was on the bus and then chastised the boy for comments reportedly made to her children.

Davin then apologized to the bus driver and got off the vehicle, police said.

Police reviewed surveillance video from the bus. They said Davin admonished the boy for talking inappropriately about her 6-year-old son. The other students on the bus told the officer the boy said nothing to Davin.

The bus driver told police he thought Davin’s tone was threatening enough to make the boy cry.

The charges were sent by summons Wednesday from the office of District Judge Ethan Ward. Davin faces an April 2 preliminary hearing before Ward.
