LETTER We don’t need any more extremists

The first Republican ad was a snarky, juvenile thing making fun of Conor Lamb’s name. It was sort of strange for so-called evangelical Christians to make fun of the name “Lamb”. Then, they pushed Rick Saccone by quoting him, saying he was Donald Trump before Trump was Trump, and they tried to frame the race as between two extremes.

Saccone may be on the extreme right, but Lamb has said he doesn’t support the top leadership of his party because it’s clear the extremes simply don’t get anything done. He’s a Marine and a prosecuting attorney, so he knows how to get things done, but he’s also just what he looks like – a nice guy. He will try to work with the few politicians from both sides who are trying to free our country from the hate-filled partisanship that has frozen us. That’s what we really need. We don’t need more extremists.
